Luxury is perceived before it is understood.

Over two annual cycles, I worked with the DS Automobiles team to translate the literary universes of Jules Verne and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry into CMF strategy and tangible interior experiences. Rather than illustrating literally, we extracted emotional and symbolic cues from each author to define distinct material atmospheres. Every decision had to survive the move from studio to production without losing precision.

Saint-Exupéry

I designed the “Speedform” emblem, inspired by the P-38 Lightning, and integrated the polar star into sidemarkers and door sills. The author’s original sketches were adapted for manufacturing tooling. The leather was developed as a nod to aviators’ flight jackets, with an aged finish and visible stitching, so the cabin carries the heritage in touch as well as in graphics.

Jules Verne

I developed the colour “Bleu Éternel”, a deep blue engineered for luminosity, balanced by a new “Pearl” tone for dashboards. I selected the material, Alcantara®, and set the creative direction for the graphics, which were laser-engraved. Every texture and colour shift serves the narrative within automotive production constraints.

Strategic Takeaway

Anchoring material in narrative lets a premium brand differentiate each model and segment without adding cost or production complexity.
