Circular
Recycled materials
.

The “circular” table is a material developed in collaboration with WIM Studio. It is a patent composite that recycles several types of waste. The old textiles recovered by ILUNION, acoustic foams from ABSOTEC® ACOUSTIC ABSORPTION® recovered from construction sites, and remnants of phenolic floors that can be found at the gyms and waste produced when the gym and sports installations need to be renovated.

To provide cohesion, various mechanical properties, and processability, pine resin called colophony is incorporated, obtained by the Universo Dríada Vida project in the depopulated areas of Spain, and mussel shells, recovered from the Galician canning industry.

By varying the proportions of the mixture, as well as the granulometry of the components, different finishes are obtained. Recycled Textil Stone also allows for pigmentation and machining, making it a material that is not only sustainable but also very versatile with an appearance similar to travertine stone, thus making it a sustainable material alternative without the need for stone extraction.

Once the material was ready to be mass-produced, Tattoo manufactured the circular table, one of the several sustainable furniture pieces I designed for their catalogue. The circular table was launched during the MIAD (Madrid Inside Art & Design Festival) on March 2024.
